Who we are
Turbo Monkey is an independent product that runs inside Shopmonkey as a browser extension. It is not made by or affiliated with Shopmonkey. In this policy, "we" means the company that operates Turbo Monkey.
What the website collects
This website is informational. It does not set tracking cookies and does not run third-party analytics. Our hosting provider keeps ordinary web-server logs, which include the IP address, browser and pages requested, and are used to run and secure the site.
The sign-up form collects your name, email address, phone number, shop name, city and state, whether the shop runs on Shopmonkey, roughly how many repair orders it writes a month, when you want the suite running, and which parts of it interest you. We keep that list only to get you set up and to understand which features shops want; it is not sold or shared for marketing.
When accounts open, the login and account pages will collect billing details. Payments will be processed by a payment processor; we will not store full card numbers. This policy will be updated before those pages go live.
What the extension sees
The extension runs on Shopmonkey pages in your browser and adds dashboards, chat and tools to them. To do that, it reads the content of the Shopmonkey page you are on, such as the order number, vehicle and notes, and sends requests to our servers for the data the dashboards show.
Our servers hold the data needed to produce those dashboards for your shop: repair order totals and labor hours, technician names, inventory counts and sales history, customer message threads for the texting features, shop chat messages, and the audit items the housekeeping tile lists. Shop Chat verifies your identity by checking your Shopmonkey session against your shop's staff list; it does not store a separate password for you.
The extension does not contain your Shopmonkey API key. Where a feature needs Shopmonkey's API, the request is made by our server using credentials you provide to us, not by code in your browser.
How we use it
Only to provide the service to your shop: to build the dashboards and reports you see, deliver chat and notifications, and support you when something goes wrong. We do not sell shop or customer data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else sees it
Our hosting providers, in order to run the servers. Shopmonkey, in the sense that the extension reads from and, for the texting composer, sends through your own Shopmonkey account under your own permissions. Third-party data sources that a feature queries, such as the public NHTSA recall database, receive only the vehicle identifier needed for that lookup.
Retention
Shop data is kept while your shop has an active subscription and for a short period after, so a lapsed account can be reinstated without losing history. You can ask us to delete it sooner.
Your choices
Removing the extension from Chrome stops all of it immediately on that computer. You can ask us to export or delete your shop's data at any time.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and, for subscribers, by email.
