Turbo Monkey

Owners app

The Dashboard button you'd actually open first thing in the morning.

For owners and managers

Shopmonkey's Dashboard button opens Shopmonkey's dashboard. With the Owners app installed it opens yours: a grid of live tiles that answer the morning questions, refreshed every minute while you're looking at it.

The dashboard hub for Westbrook Auto Works inside Shopmonkey: tiles for Overhead at 72 percent covered and on track, Tech Weekly Hours at 94.3 percent efficiency with a bar per technician, AI Missed Calls with two needing a callback out of seven this week, Unresponded Texts with five needing a reply, and RepairTrac with three tasks not started and three in progress, above a Housekeeping list of three outstanding items on open repair orders: parts with no cost entered, completed labor never authorized, and billed labor with nobody on it.
The hub replaces the Dashboard view. Ctrl-click still opens Shopmonkey's own. Westbrook Auto Works is a made-up shop, so every name and number on it is invented.

What it does

Click Dashboard in Shopmonkey's rail and the hub appears: Overhead, Tech Weekly Hours, Unresponded Texts, RepairTrac, Housekeeping and a KPI grid, with Vehicles on Property available as an extra section. Hold Ctrl or Cmd while clicking and Shopmonkey's own dashboard opens instead, exactly as before.

Unresponded Texts counts the customer threads where the customer spoke last and nobody has replied, shown as a fraction of all recent threads. The drill-down lists each thread with a Needed or Not needed column, so a thank-you text doesn't look like a missed one. From there, Open Message Center shows every thread with Unresponded, Unread and All filters, search, and a composer that replies from the shop's Shopmonkey number. The Message Center opens in a panel inside Shopmonkey, with a button to pop it out to its own tab. The same button is added to Shopmonkey's own Messages popup.

The KPI grid shows the month's numbers against targets: gross profit percent, average RO, hours sold, car count, parts margin, cycle time, discount percent and more, each with its variance from target and a good, warning or bad colour. Housekeeping lists items outstanding on open repair orders and clears itself as the orders get fixed. There's no dismiss button, so the only way to clear an item is to fix the order.

Every tile refreshes every sixty seconds while the hub is visible, and Reload fetches fresh data past the cache. A tile whose feed fails shows dashes, says it's unavailable and offers Retry. The hub never shows a stale number as current, and it never makes one up.

The Owners app also puts the Overhead Tracker on Shopmonkey's Reports menu and in the rail, and lets you hide rail entries your shop doesn't use.

The same numbers go with you on the Owners app (mobile), a separate install for the phone with its own page. It adds a Cash view the desktop hub doesn't have.

Why it matters to a shop

Shopmonkey tells you what happened. The questions you have in the morning are different: are we covering overhead, who's behind, which customers are waiting on us, what's outstanding on the open orders. Each one has an answer somewhere in Shopmonkey. The Owners app puts them all on one screen, behind the button you were already going to press.

Real screens from the extension. Most were shot against Westbrook Auto Works, a made-up shop, so every name and number in them is invented. Where a shot comes from a live shop, the caption says so and says what's blurred.
