BMW Estimator
Paste the part numbers. Get the services on the order.
aTech app · BMW shops
Writing a BMW estimate by hand means looking up a part number in a browser tab, finding the price and the labor time, then doing it again for the next seven. The Estimator button does that pass for you and puts the result on the order you already have open.

What it does
One button joins the work order's own action row, beside PRINT and SEND. Click it and the estimator expands in place between the comments card and the New Service bar. It isn't an overlay. The services below it move down, and clicking again collapses it. Move to another work order and it closes, since it belonged to the order you just left.
You paste a list of BMW part numbers, with quantities where you need them, and press Generate Estimate. It runs four stages in the open: parsing what you pasted, looking up each part on the web, converting BMW FRU times into labor hours, and building the estimate. A live log shows each part as it's found and priced, so you see a bad number the moment it goes wrong instead of at the end.
Send to Shopmonkey writes the finished services onto the work order through the estimator's own server, which reads the order from the address you're already on. The new lines don't show up until you refresh the order, and the panel tells you that.
The button looks like the button next to it. It copies Shopmonkey's own class, so it picks up hover, focus and dark mode. The suite ships no button colours of its own.
Why it matters to a shop
On a BMW the part number is the whole spec, so the slow part of an estimate is the lookup. A shop that does eight of those a week is spending hours in a browser retyping numbers it already has in front of it.
Doing it inside the work order matters as much as doing it fast. An estimator in another tab gives you a document somebody has to copy across, and that's where the quantity and the price stop matching.
In detail
What ships today.
-
In the action row, in the page
A button beside PRINT and SEND that expands the estimator right in the page, with the services moving down to make room.
-
Four stages, shown
Parse, part lookup, FRU to labor hours, estimate. The log names every part as it's priced.
-
Writes to the order
Send to Shopmonkey adds the services to the work order you've got open. You have to refresh the order to see them, and the panel tells you so.
-
Your estimator, framed
The panel frames an estimator address you set, and passes it the work order you're on. Point it elsewhere and the button follows.
